Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how PlayTube ("the App", "we", "us") — a media player and web browsing app for iOS published by an independent developer — collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App. By using PlayTube you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

PlayTube does not require an account, and the App itself does not ask for your name, email address, or other contact details. The information collected falls into these categories:

• Advertising data (Google AdMob). The App shows ads served by Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers (including the advertising identifier, IDFA, only if you grant the App Tracking Transparency permission), IP address, coarse location derived from IP, device information, and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
• Analytics data (Google Firebase). We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Remote Config to understand aggregate app usage (screens viewed, feature usage, session data, device model, OS version, approximate region) and to remotely configure app features. This data is aggregated and is not used by us to identify you personally.
• Purchase information. Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment card details. Subscription entitlement status is verified on your device through Apple's StoreKit.
• Your media and browsing data stays on your device. Videos, music, photos, playlists, bookmarks, and browsing history managed in the App are stored locally on your device. We do not upload them to our servers — we do not operate any server that stores your personal content. Photo library access is used only to save or play media you explicitly choose.

2. Consent and your choices

• Personalized ads consent (EEA/UK/Switzerland). Where required by GDPR, a consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) is shown on first launch. You can change your choices at any time in Settings → Ad privacy options inside the App.
• App Tracking Transparency. The App asks for iOS tracking permission before using the advertising identifier. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you decline, ads still appear but are not personalized using the IDFA.
• Remove ads entirely. The optional Premium subscription removes all ads.

3. Third-party services

The App integrates the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google AdMob and Google Firebase — Google Privacy Policy
• Apple App Store / StoreKit (purchases) — Apple Privacy Policy

PlayTube includes a general-purpose web browser. When you visit websites (including YouTube) through the App, those websites and their operators may collect data as described in their own privacy policies — for YouTube, see the Google Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service. Web content is displayed as-is; we are not responsible for third-party websites.

4. Data retention

We do not maintain servers that store your personal data. Data collected by Google (advertising, analytics) is retained according to Google's retention policies. Content stored locally in the App (playlists, bookmarks, media files, settings) remains on your device and is removed when you delete the App.

5. Children

PlayTube is not directed at children and is rated 17+ on the App Store because it provides unrestricted web access. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not hold your personal data on our own servers, most such requests are handled through your device settings, the in-app consent options described above, or Google's tools (e.g. Google Ad Center). 7. Security

Network communication used by the App's services uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we rely on well-established platform providers (Apple, Google) for the services described above.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
